At the Child Alert Center, parents can register and securely store their children’s descriptive information and photographs annually for less than the cost of a typical flash drive. In the event the child goes missing the parent or police would notify their call center. A poster would be created in minutes and distributed regardless of the parents physical location. There would be no need to search for a child id kit, photographs, flash drives or anything but the missing child.
The Pasco Sheriff’s Office plans to launch a program soon, Operation Find Me, to give away USB flash drives to parents of youngsters, Public Information Director Kevin Doll confirms.
Vital information, photos and other files can be transferred onto the USB flash drive, also called thumb drives, which plug into any computer.
